On the 25th anniversary of the Falls Festival and the 5th year of the Byron Bay event, Falls Festival are getting set to put on one of their biggest shows to date! With a huge line-up already announced including Flume, Fleet Foxes, Run The Jewels, Glass Animals, Angus & Julia Stone, Liam Gallagher and heaps more, the Foster A Band competition has opened! One local Byron act will have the chance to share the same stage as some of the biggest international and national artists this New Year’s Eve, who that will be is up to you, the voting public.
Falls are giving emerging Byron acts the chance to play in front of thousands of people from across the country and are teaming up with our local media buddies to foster the best up-and-comers Byron has to offer – and they are asking the readers to pick their fave. Voting will be open for the month of October below. The top artist pulling in the most love will secure a paid slot on the official 2017 Byron Bay line-up! ADAM HARPAZ FOSTERED BY BYRON BAZAAR
Adam is a multi-instrumentalist, indie-folk musician who busks during the day, performs at venues during the night and surfs in between. The Byron Bay-based singer-songwriter paints pictures of peaceful coastal living through heartfelt performances and lyrical integrity. Adam has been featured on triple j, performed at major festivals such as Splendour in the Grass, and has sold out shows across the country. Adam has also shared the stage with the likes of Missy Higgins, Hein Cooper and the Art of Sleeping.

Anna Free & the Unsolved Crimes sound uncannily like your favourite band used to before the drugs, synthesisers and/or Japanese conceptual artist came along and ruined the whole thing. Anna has been performing her own curious blend of piano-based garage pop around Byron for several years, including performances at the Byron Bay Blues Festival and Bangalow Music Festival, and has just finished her brand new EP ‘This Doesn’t Feel Like Nothing’. Anna’s lyrically driven songs explore a range of topics from cats to teenage angst to teenaged feline angst and much more. Her first single “Make You Happy” was awarded the Song of the Year in 2015 by the North Coast Entertainment Industry Association and herfollow up self-titled album took out the Dolphin Award for Album of the Year.

Byron Bay party band Drop Legs have attracted a solid following in with their energetic live performances and fusion of heavy reggae and coastal hip-hop. The band’s accelerating career has landed them on their seventh and biggest tour yet (14 shows) stretching all the way from Tasmania to the Sunshine Coast including 2 festivals.
