The $120 million showcase Elements of Byron resort in Byron Bay, is relaunching this year with new accommodation, dining and wellness experiences. Having only opened in February last year, the property has been awarded accolade upon accolade including Best Hotel Design from the Association of British Interior Designers International Design Awards.

Elements of Byron lies across fifty acres with two kilometres of absolute beach frontage on Byron Bay’s Belongil Beach. The resort is home to thirteen acres of littoral rainforest, tea tree creek, lake, ponds, and a substantial replanting program is now complete with an additional 175,000 native plants and trees planted over the last 2 years within the resort grounds. “Byron Bay is Australia’s hot spot for wellness, surf culture and nature based experiences” said resort owner Peggy Flannery. “People travel here for inspiration. We have tried to honour nature and the essence of Byron as we vision Elements of Byron into being”.

The multi award winning central leisure precinct comprises three separate organic form pavilions around an 850,000 litre heated lagoon infinity pool facing the ocean. Buildings are low at the edges and were collectively designed so the curved roof resembles the sand dunes on the property. Within this wonderland of light are endless burees, day beds, a poolside bar, communal fire pit and cantilevered day beds overhanging the water.

Opening this month are and additional 99 Villas, including 68 deluxe two bedroom two bathroom 111m2 beach houses with timber decks with fireplaces and verandah bathhouses surrounded by forest and creek. New leisure areas include an adult only heated pool named Summer Salt with swim-up tequileria and mexican inspired food offering. New surprise play spaces are designed to be “discovered”, like a giant fig tree with hanging chairs and festoon lighting, a kids adventure trail designed around the principles of parkour, a giant chess set and bocce rink amongst melaleuca and red gum trees, plus many more.

Five dining outlets traverse the serious to the sublime. From a Private Beach Club on the sands of Belongil Beach with live music and retro caravan dishing native produce inspired cocktails to Drift Bar serving local beers and spirits around the fire pit to Executive Chef Simon Jones’ exquisite Italian seafood experience.

Wellness activities include daily yoga overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Australia’s most easterly point, beach horse riding from the onsite stables, guided nature walks where guests sample native “bush tucker”, Fire Pit Fridays and indulgent world class therapies at Osprey Spa.

For thousands of years Byron Bay has been a destination for healing and celebration for indigenous Australians. Elements of Byron continues this tradition.
