The board of Destination Byron would like to congratulate Mr. Cameron Arnold who has been announced as the Chair of the newly established regional network, Destination North Coast.

Mid 2016 saw the introduction of the new tourism network for regional NSW, wherein 6 new regional networks were developed, Byron Shire is part of Destination North Coast network, which covers the mid north coast to Tweed Heads, including Lord Howe Island.

Minister for trade tourism and major events, Stuart Ayers, addressed the attendees of the Destination Byron tourism Symposium last year to further explain the benefits of the re-structure.

Regional tourism contributes $6.7 billion to NSW and employs in excess of 70,000 people. The NSW Government have committed around $10 million per year to support the growth of regional tourism and assist the Sate in reaching the goal of doubling overnight visitor expenditure by 2020.

Cameron was the founding President of Destination Byron, was the past Chair of the North Coast Destination Network and has a number of businesses in the tourism sector within the region. Cameron has worked tirelessly over many years on local and regional boards to maximize the benefit of visitors to our region.
